Closer to Home: The Reopening of Leighton House Museum
Photographic exhibition and documentary film | 15 March – 20 June 2010
Position:
Photographer / Filmmaker
Commissioned by Leighton House Museum, I documented the extensive refurbishment and
conservation of this historic London landmark through photography and film.
The project captured the restoration process, architectural details, archival discoveries, and
the expertise of the specialist craftspeople and conservators involved.
The commission included a comprehensive photographic archive, an online video diary,
educational resources, and a 60-minute documentary film.
The resulting photographic exhibition celebrated the museum’s reopening, offering audiences
a unique insight into its history, heritage, and the enduring value of traditional crafts.
