The story of three young and promising female journalists from South Sudan.
Flora Henry, Margaret Tito and Ikilass Henry are three young and promising female journalists from South Sudan. They are among the very few women media professionals in their country and usually occupy only minor or insignificant positions in the media. In South Sudan men own most of the private media companies, the majority of reporters are men and they also have more executive power within the state-owned media companies. But these three ambitious girls are here to demonstrate how women can stand up for their rights and increase the visibility of women’s issues in South Sudan.
Flora, the first female investigative journalist in South Sudan, Margaret, the fashion-model-photojournalist and Ikilass the only fieldwork female camera woman in South Sudan, have all decided to challenge the many barriers faced by women in journalism and are here to stand up as essential forces to advocate women’s empowerment in general.
