This series of photos shows the historic celebrations of Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee and funeral that took place in London in June and September 2022.

From Thursday 2 to Sunday 5 June 2022, thousands of people flooded the streets of London to mark Queen Elizabeth II’s 70 years on the throne and more than 16,000 street parties took place over the bank holiday weekend. The main event for street parties was the Big Jubilee Lunch on Sunday, June 5. Time to get out bunting, Union Jack flags, Coronation chicken – and Platinum pud trifle.

Few months later, on 8 September, The Queen died in her Platinum Jubilee year at the age of 96. Her funeral was held on 19 September 2022 and she was buried at the King George VI Memorial Chapel later that day.
