Savoir-être
(8 minutes)
The film is part of the Night of ideas festival, which takes place on January 30th 2020, and with focus on the theme: ‘Being alive”. It is organised by The Institut français both in France and in 65 countries.
“Savoir-être” is a short documentary produced by the students of the Pre-GCSE / B1 class at La Petite Ecole d’Ealing in London and Frédérique Cifuentes.
Based on the theme of the Night of Ideas 2020, “Being alive”, our bilingual college students, aged 13 to 11, tried a personal experience.
They imagined living a situation or an event confronting them with loss, with abandon, to leave far from their homes and being able to carry only one object – what would it be?
This is the decision that our young heroes must make in their journey. Then they have been asked to express their feelings related to this situation in front of the camera.
The goal is to make children aware of the difficulties and feelings that other people encounter during the different stages of their journey. As well as reflecting on commitment, awareness of others and living together.
Following a simulation act exercise, the participants share their emotions with us, in a personal and sincere way.
The film offers a reflection on childhood, youth, sensitivity, transmission, etc. The film invites children to explore themselves, living things behind and the environment.
The film takes a close look at the child actor and author of his daily life and his destiny.
