Photojournalist
My work has been deeply informed and enriched by my continuous multicultural experiences, cross-cultural dialogues and exploration of identities, histories and meanings. I have photographed and worked internationally, and developed a deep appreciation for peoples, arts and cultures.
My mission is to promote under-represented and challenging countries in the contemporary visual landscape. I believe in the fundamental role of culture, media and freedom of expression as a vehicle for change, and also as a factor for economic and social stability. I am working towards exchange knowledge to make long lasting difference to journalists, artists and cultural practitioners; as well as to promote cultural diversity, intercultural dialogue and inclusive knowledge.
My work has been shown and published worldwide. I am a published author, journalist contributor on topics including religion, arts and migration. I have specialist religious knowledge (Sharia law, Sufism, Sephardic Judaism) and in Sub-Saharan Africa (Sudan, South Sudan, Egypt, Ethiopia, Kenya, Burkina Faso), the Middle East (Lebanon, Syria, Israel, Jordan), Europe and the US.
I am a multiple grantee of AFAC (Arab Fund For Arts and Culture), the Arts Council England and the Arab British Centre, UK.
